Why must I enable location services to use BlackBoard?
BlackBoard relies on your location (geo locating deals) to deliver the core service of showing you the closest, most relevant deals available right now. Without it we cannot fulfil our promise of hyper local discovery. Your consent is explicitly managed under UK GDPR and PECR rules.
How do I browse offers if I don't want to use GPS location?
If you deny location access, you can use Change My Location in the Profile section to set a specific search location (for example, "Twickenham"). This lets you search for future plans or deals in a different part of the pilot area.
How do I redeem an offer? Is it a QR code or staff input?
In the pilot phase, redemption is user operated and staff assisted. When you are ready to pay, confirm the deal with the staff member, then activate the simple Offer Redeemed slider or checkbox in the app. Your screen will instantly turn green, which the staff member visually confirms to apply the discount. No QR codes or staff PINs are used during the pilot.
Can I filter offers by my preferences?
Yes. Use the search bar for a generic search or the Advanced Deal Filtering interface (filtering by deal categories such as food, drink, event or quiz). All filtering is free for every user.
How do I find out how long a deal is valid for?
All time sensitive deals show a prominent countdown timer directly on the deal card, clearly indicating the precise time remaining (for example, "35 minutes left") before the deal expires.
I see an asterisk (*) next to a deal. What does it mean?
The asterisk indicates a standard disclaimer that the offer is *subject to change or cancellation by the venue partner. While deals are real time, this footnote provides necessary transparency around external operational factors (for example, selling out of a limited deal).
How can I report incorrect information about a venue or offer?
Please use the Contact Support section in the app's Profile area. Choose the "Report an Issue" option and your feedback will be routed straight to our operations team for review.
Account and Compliance
Can I save my favourite venues or deals?
Yes. Use the Saved Venues / Offers tab to favourite deals or venues for future planning, making them easy to access for repeat use. This is a core feature, not restricted to a premium tier.
Where can I adjust the types of notifications I receive?
You can customise alerts and preferences under Notification Settings within the Profile section, choosing which user push messages you want to receive.
Can I update my location without being physically there?
Yes. Go to Change Location in the Profile section. This lets you manually set search parameters for future intent searches, for example planning a weekend out when you are not currently in the pilot zone.
How can I delete my account?
Use the Delete Account function in the My Account page within the Profile section. Please note this action is irreversible, and your data will be erased in compliance with your UK GDPR right to erasure.
How do I update my email address or other account information?
You can change your email, password and other account details via the My Account page within the Profile section.

All mandatory legal documents, including our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, are linked from the Legal section of the app's Profile tab and on this website.

Where is BlackBoard currently available?
We are running our pilot programme in West London, serving Surbiton, Kingston, Teddington, New Malden, Hampton Wick and Twickenham.
How can I suggest a new city for expansion?
Submit city suggestions via the Contact Support section in the app. We prioritise expansion based on demonstrated market demand.
How can I help my venue get listed on BlackBoard?
BlackBoard is a self serve platform. To get started, simply tap Venue Sign Up in the new sign up section. This lets venue partners quickly post and manage their own deals. You can also add extra accounts for team members to post and update deals.
How can I share the app or deals with my friends?
You can easily share the app with others using the Share function available across the app.
